Apache Pros and Cons as Dedicated Server Hosting

Apache is a free web server offered on the internet. The software, created in 1995, has become the most popular of the servers in the World.  The software is constantly updated and represents the best open source web server out there.  The fact that the software is constantly being updated makes Apache a safe bet that it will be around for some time. One of the negatives of using Apache software as dedicated server hosting is that there is no support offered directly by Apache. The best way to get support for a problem would be through a third party familiar with Apache.

Apache is also very much more compatible with Linux operating systems. The software works better, faster, and more efficient when Linux is used. This isn’t a reason not to use Apache but more of a recommendation to use both Apache and Linux for the best optimal performance.  It’s hard to beat a price offered at free for something so popular.
